Water Treatment

Water Treatment is responsible for treating a large portion of WVWD water supplies before they are distributed to our customers. Our water treatment department utilizes a variety of treatment methods, ranging from filtration to Ultraviolet antibacterial systems to ensure your water is safe and of exceptional quality.

Whether your water is pumped from the ground, captured from the local environment or imported via the California State Water Project, our treatment department uses advanced treatment technologies to ensure customers are receiving clean and safe water. 

WVWD operates and maintains several treatment plants to ensure that we deliver clean and safe water to ratepayers. WVWD’s main treatment plant, the Oliver P. Roemer Water Filtration Facility treats surface water from Lytle Creek and the State Water Project. WVWD is expanding the plant to treat 21.6 million gallons of water per day to meet regional water demands, address water supply reliability and support regional groundwater sustainability management efforts.
